About Us

Modern Mitzvah is an illustration, stationery and design brand based in Scottsdale, AZ. We create unique, modern designs for Jewish holidays and celebrations like baby namings, bar mitzvahs and weddings.

We’re a husband-wife team. Laura is the creative talent behind the company while Justin handles the finances, and our two young daughters inspire (and distract) us.

How it Started vs. How it's Going

The company first launched in 2018, quite accidentally, when Laura was asked to design a baby naming certificate for a friend. Soon several more friends asked for baby naming certificates, then for home blessings, and the product line snowballed from there.

Today Modern Mitzvah’s line of wholesale greeting cards and Jewish artwork can be found in over 100 stores, temple gift shops, Jewish Museums and other retailers throughout the United States, from small boutique shops to big box stores like Target and Trader Joe's.
